Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen, Minister of Health and Energy 

Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen (Sambandsflokkurin) is Minister of Health and Energy. 

Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen is originally from Tvøroyri and was born on 1 August 1972 in Qeqertarsuaq, Greenland. She is married to Marner Hansen, and together they have two sons, Heri and Thór. 

She holds an education in tourism as well as an academy degree in leadership. She has worked in the shipping and tourism industries for around 30 years and has spent 22 years as an executive secretary for management and boards in DFDS A/S and Smyril Line P/F. 

Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen has political experience as Mayor of Vágar Municipality from 2017 to 2020. Following the 2019 elections, she has served in the Løgtingið as a deputy member on several occasions. 

She was first elected to parliament in the 2022 parliamentary elections. 

With her broad experience in leadership, organisation, and politics, she has worked to develop the Faroe Islands both economically and socially, with a foundation in the opportunities within the Danish Realm. 

Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen took office as Minister of Health and Energy in 2026.
